Q1.Will this 6-1/2-inch blade fit my saw?
A: This blade has a 5/8-inch arbor and is designed for compatible 6-1/2-inch corded or cordless metal-cutting circular saws. Before ordering, confirm your saw’s blade diameter, arbor size, guard clearance, rotation direction, and maximum RPM.
Q2. Can I install it on a regular wood-cutting circular saw?
A: Only if the saw manufacturer specifically allows metal-cutting blades and all specifications match. A matching arbor alone does not guarantee safe compatibility. For best performance, use a low-speed saw designed or approved for cutting metal.
Q3. What materials can this blade cut?
A:It is designed for ferrous-metal applications such as angle iron, channel steel, threaded rod, steel pipe, steel plate, flat bar, and round bar.
Q4. Why choose cermet tips instead of standard carbide teeth?
A: Cermet tips are engineered for strong heat and wear resistance when cutting steel. They help the cutting edge stay sharp longer and support cleaner, more consistent cuts in demanding metal applications.
Q4. How is this blade different from an abrasive cut-off wheel?
A: Instead of grinding through the metal, the teeth remove small chips. This cutting action generally produces less heat, fewer sparks, less material loss, and a cleaner edge than an abrasive wheel when the correct saw and operating conditions are used.
Q5. Does it produce no sparks at all?
A: It is designed for low-spark cutting, but no metal-cutting process should be described as completely spark-free under every condition. Spark levels depend on the material, saw speed, feed pressure, blade condition, and cutting setup. Always wear appropriate eye and face protection.
Q6. Will the metal stay cool after cutting?
A: The toothed cold-cutting action transfers much of the generated heat into the chips, so the workpiece generally stays cooler than it would with an abrasive wheel. However, the blade, chips, and cut edge may still be hot and should not be touched immediately.
Q7. Can it cut sheet metal?
A: It can cut suitable steel plate, but extremely thin sheet may vibrate, snag, or deform if too few teeth remain engaged. Thin sheet must be firmly supported and clamped; a blade with a tooth count specifically matched to thin metal may provide better results.
Q8. How long does the blade last?
A: The cermet teeth and hardened steel body are designed for extended service life. Under suitable cutting conditions, the product is rated to deliver approximately 25–30X longer life than standard abrasive grinding wheels. Actual life varies with material hardness, thickness, saw speed, feed pressure, and operator technique.
Q9.How should I use the blade to prevent damaged teeth?
A: Clamp the workpiece securely, allow the saw to reach operating speed before entering the material, maintain a straight cutting path, and use steady pressure. Avoid twisting the blade, forcing the cut, dropping it into the workpiece, or allowing unsupported metal to pinch the blade.
